You should really buy it, if not for the keyword research then for the tracking feature.

I track all my website with MS.

I also make most of my KWR with it.

I have lost a lot of money with PPC especially with Adwords but also Adcenter. if u dont know what u r doing/dont have a huge budget its best to stay away from it in my experience.
