My opinion and advice is to not focus on dominating particular keywords. Just create tight niche blog, which is a blog the covers all areas of a particular product or service, do your research, and...

Yeah. Just use the naked keyword(s) when checking competition. The only time we use quotes is when;

we're checking to see if one of our new writers is selling us duplicate content already...
