That would be the date of issue of the check. IIRC, one date is the payment ending period or date of commission calculation, and the other is the date of issue. The one on the upper right...

Most checks are only valid for up to 180 days period.

I don't think that any web host allows you to run another virtual machine on a virtual machine. And wine is too unreliable in most server cases.

You might run into some problems building the Virtualbox kernel modules on a VPS.

Wine might be the way to go. I'd try it at home first before migrating to a Linux VPS for running windows apps.
