Open the sitemap page again and click update in the plugin options. In other words, resave your sitemap. After that, resubmit it to GWT. Let me know if this resolves the issue you are facing.

You should have redirected the gardening site to the gardening section of the health and wellness site, not the root domain.

As for the sitemap, make sure the url you entered is valid. Delete it...
