And use a secure connection. When you redirect from an https link, the TLS specification forbids the transfer of referral data. So they don't even know what your external domain is.

I use a domain name that I host and create redirects with the .htaccess file. That to me is the quickest way to generate short links. All the sites will see that domain as the referrer.

You can easily do this with 2 redirects.
Send the traffic to www.domain1.com/redirect.html (http://www.domain1.com/redirect.html) and redirect the visitors to www.domain2.com/redirect.html...

I don't use e-mail and zip submits because they get scrubbed so heavily, but they can work I don't doubt that.

But I don't recommend them to beginners. :)

This is one of the reasons why i typically avoid email submits these days, the problem is you will never know..

I've also found in the past, targeted traffic don't always work so well with email...
