I also got his emails but then I was like bombarded with his emails every now and then, that forced me to unsubscribe. However, I never took interest to use his services anyhow.

I think the difference is scaling up.

Once you see something is making you $$, just do more of the same.

Newbies tend to just jump to the next "better" method. Successful people just scale up...

BuySellAds.com is very good. I got an ad for a month for $50 and got 261 clicks which was like 19 cents per click. Would have cost me $1+ per click with adwords or facebook.
