If your primary product is membership subscription, why not use a membership plugin instead of a shopping cart? Some WordPress membership plugins can be integrated with 3rd party shopping cart...

In my experience the answer is no. My company has tested aweber which is a main stream autoresponder, but we have also tested high profile expensive autoresponder systems. One even cost $4000 a month...
