Joomla has come a long way with SEO. There are plenty of SEO tools for Joomla. SH404sef, joomsef, ijoomla seo, JMAP PRO for building your site map on the fly that also pulls other components into it...

It's a gantry error. Are you running the newest version of gantry? If not, go clear your sites cache. It'll fix it temporarily until it caches again. Check your gantry version though.
