If you're talking about wordpress.com no. Wordpress.org which is self-hosted, yes. Go with self hosted.

Imo you really should have your own domain and hosting. You could use Wordpress if you want but it's not required.

Its true you can get a free squeeze page with getresponse, the basic package with the autoresponder that is $15 bucks gets you one page and 1000 views a month, are you can just pay an extra 15 bucks...
