2nd rank half of that.
3rd rank half of the 2nd rank or around 3/4th of the second rank
10th rank probably 10-30+ at most in a month.

Look for existing organic traffic using SEMRush data.

I use domcop.com for buying my expired domains. It gives the SEMRush traffic data for domains, the SEOMoz Rank and also the verified page rank.

You just dont need to be worried about decay factor of PR when you are doing 301 redirect. Just redirect the non www version. You would be fine. :)

IMHO, stick to the version that Google has indexed. I personally wouldn't mess around with that -- but you probably could do it as long you redirected.
