The landing page tells me absolutely nothing about what the site is or does. All I see is a long list of products with small or no images. Total turn-off.

I've actually tested this in a small way, but short answer is for me it is. Having an image seems to draw people's attention to at least look at what you have in that area.

I agree with Karen - I think it IS a buyer keyword, but not as strong as something like 'buy product name'.
I've made the majority of my money in niche marketing targetting 'product name review'...

I would say it's a warm buyer keyword. Not as hot as "product name discount" or "cheapest price product name" but definitely warmer than just the product name alone.
