I originally had problems with it but I just went through to hostmonster live support and I had it fixed in 1 min. You're best off getting in touch with your domain host than the product vendor.

Right under the server information there is a check box that says, "This server requires a secure connection (SSL)."

Uncheck this box and try it again.

I was having trouble with a submitter once and what I did was forwarded it to a gmail account and used the gmail info in those fields for the submitter ( and real domain address for the directories)....

No it doesn't, but you should use a real domain email address and not a free email account, some article directories won't take submissions from free email accounts.
