The thing with own mail servers are that it's very hard to avoid spam folder. Especially when you want to send 100k emails. It works for personal mailboxes. But takes a lot of work setting up DNS...

you should keep w3tc. CDN just deliver your static content from their servers. They does not cache your site. You need a plugin on your site for that.

BTW MaxCDN is on more of an expensive side....
