You still need to have a basic banner up there, but use a nicely designed, well-branded logo instead of the generic flower and the text. It will make a huge difference.

I have been using a combination of Insight and Freshbooks. I only use Freshbooks to invoice a couple of clients though. Have you tried Harvest?
