vBulletin is the only one I have personal experience with. It's wonderful. Host with urljet.com and they'll even take care of the installation for you free of charge. :)

If you need free software then SMF is better option...

I have experience using phpBB, SMF, Invisionboard, VB, and MyBB and so far, VB is more flexible and highly customizable with great features.....

I ve been using smf with good experience for many years. Current i ve morethan 10k users, with more than 10mill hits a month. Best of all smf is free.

Vbulletin is always miles ahead than any other forum software..
WF, DP, SP, V7N, and most other forums uses VB..

On top of investing in the program, you will need proxies to see good rates.
