What you are saying is not true in some cases. Less than one million search results doesn't mean less competition. For example, keyword Wealthy Affiliate is also less than 1 mill but I can imagine...

As long as you are sticking with long tail keyword that has exact searches with high enough number, you would be just alright, that's my definition of easy keywords..

Generally speaking, the shorter the keyword, the harder it is to rank (compared to other keywords in the same niche/sub niche).

So, if you find a 5-word keyword, odds are it's easier than a 3-word...

That is just stupid. The number or results has nothing to do with how easy or difficult it is to rank for a keyword.

The fewer results for that keyword on Google, the easier it will be to rank for that keyword.

Google doesn't discern between difficult or easy to rank keywords. The only thing they know is numbers.
