On autoblogs (my network of feeder blogs) I usually just go with WP Mobile Pack plugin. My money sites get a separate .M website for SEO purposes. Sometimes these end up being simple mobile landing...

Hi John,
I would always go with a Mobile site, they are cleaner and easier for the customer, if you use a decent platform you can do your SEO on the sites, add in Youtube videos,...

lol.. wonder how many people know this simple concept. Funny how some WSOs tout this as such a big deal.. like their mobile plugin is so special because it has this feature.

I would go for a separate mobile site instead of a hybrid, it doesn't have to be fancy at all, especially if your client is a locksmith... they don't need regular updates and latest news and stuff...
