Another way to address this is, early on in the conversation, ask who did the ad or promotion? Ask whether they like it? You'd be surprised, many don't like what the other guy did and will tell you....

Rosetrees advice is right.. focus more on getting traffic. Thats what seems missing to me. When you rank, then you'll have traffic and visitors to test your page with.

Anything around 1% is respectable. So you have to improve the content so it causes more clickthroughs. I'd work on the conversion first, before I focused on driving more traffic.

It isn't just the payment processor's attractiveness to marketers, it also has to be attractive and credible to buyers. Some marketers I know have tested non-Paypal processors and seen much lower...
