If you want to have 1000 real followers without promotion, then it's impossible. You have to be ready to pay for that. Or spend on this many hours and nervous on this until there is will be a result.

Promoting anything on the internet is the best place is youtube, here amount of traffic is huge but content should be very interesting otherwise it will be worthless. Same situation is for instagram...

That's a very ambitious target ,especially if you're looking for engaged real followers. But the secret is to post as much as possible - 3-5 times a day, use hashtags extensively, about 30 per post...
