if you have changed your URL structure, make sure to do a 301 redirect from the old pages to the new ones. You should reclaim your existing rankings when doing this (or there abouts)

Just make sure to leave the linking structure alone, unless you will be setting up 301 re-directs. If you start changing that around then all previous backlinks built will end up going to a 404 page...

In terms of SEO value, you will find it beneficial to get a .co.uk domain and have your hosting in the UK. Bare in mind, these aren't significant ranking factors though, just a bonus.
