An obvious way to capitalize on the idea is with a WSO. You can use the idea yourself, create a case study showing how effective it is, and package that into a WSO. See if you can come up with some...

If they're still in the information-gathering stage, or even the consider the options stage, a straight sell will likely scare them...

I think I'd give away a "report" based on the ebook to get the leads, and then offer the ebook as the next step.
With a highly specialised subject, I'm sure that would work out well.

If you sell the book first and then grab the leads from the sale, you are basically pre-qualifying your leads.

In my eyes it would be best to do something to get the lead first and then work on...
