I agree with what others have suggested, in that it depends on your niche. Some niches allow the purchase of traffic for pennies, which makes PPC and solo ads attractive. Others prefer free methods...

3 good free traffic sources I'd recommend would be Yahoo Answers, YouTube and Quora. All good targeted, quality traffic available form these sources.

Paid traffic works well and the most important thing that you can get targeted traffic. Consider Adwords and paid Facebook ads.

Contributing to targeted discussion forums and link backs to blogs
Creating targeted facebook sites and pointing back to my blogs from there

I can vouch for the Pareto Principle's truth. Only 20% of your activities produces 80% of your results. It makes lots of sense to focus more on this 20%.
