Its impossible to say where the function will be located, without looking at the actual script myself. Best option would be to get someone else to help you, such as iBBnet ;)

HomeBizzNizz is right, theres no way for someone to find your database details when they access the page via a web browser, but if they somehow gain FTP access to your site then this would allow them...

You may want to perform strip_tags, stripslashes on the posted data to stop the user from modifying your MySQL query.

I use Netbeans IDE on Mac and I believe its on Windows too, or Coda for Mac is really nice - built-in Manuals, SSH Client, FTP and the usual editors.
