GVO is good (tho not as good as aweber in my opinion) but in terms of getting domain, hosting and autoresponder all under one roof for a reasonable cost you could do a lot worse than GVO.

I have one list of 1200+ that were all subscribed under single opt-in. It's the worst list imaginable! The bounce rate is higher than the click rate!

Definitely double opt-ins for me.
