Hey everyone - figured I would start a thread here about hunting for jobs using social media. I'll start by sharing an interesting article I found about the topic.

It's benficial to those who are unemployed or in between jobs. It's entirely possible to find job via social media. You just have to know what to do!

Joining some related Facebook Groups could be an option, for example a group dedicated to Content Writers, or to Freelancers. Also LinkedIn has the same option and there the groups are much more professionally oriented to say so. Forums can also be a place to promote yourself or your products. These are some of the options.
P.S. The link does not work so sorry if some of the info may seem like the one you already found.

Definitely the No1 place to go if you're looking for a job on social media is LinkedIn!
All the rest is a sort of a 'Let's see if I get lucky' approach...
    Good luck everyone

Finding jobs is one of those things that really take time, but most importantly you really have to know what you are doing. I don't think there is one way to do it, instead it must be a combination. Same goes for hiring. I know when I hire someone, I'm always looking at multiple social media accounts, and doing some heavy research on the candidate. I'll check the candidate's LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, and Google their name and go through the first two pages for anything I can find.

So first step has to be to make sure you exist on all platforms, and that whatever someone can potentially see is conducive to getting a job, so get rid of the # selfie with the duck face.

As far as finding jobs, I've used Craigslist, job boards, groups etc. The key isn't where you find the job because they are almost always everywhere like monster. Com and glassdoor but instead it's connecting to the right person at the company via LinkedIn or otherwise and getting introduced.

    Hope this helps,

    Marc
