Value of Instagram Accounts

Hello all!

I have recently gotten into building Instagram pages and then earning revenue from them by selling shout outs and guaranteed followers (I haven't started selling yet, still in the process of building them up).

I had a quick question, but I'm not sure if there is really a clear answer on this, as I believe the market is not very common or recorded.

Say I was making about $4000/month with one of my accounts, which is very plausible, as I know various account owners who are making this or much more.

If I wanted to sell this account, what would be a fair price? Would it be like websites that sell for usually around 10X their monthly revenue? Or would it be more around 5X or 4X their monthly revenue?

Once again, I know this is a hard question to answer with confidence, but I would appreciate any opinions on the matter!

Also, I'm not sure if someone would even pay, in the case of the example above, $20k-$40k for an Instagram account like they would a website. Would you be willing, if you had the money to spend, if you knew you'd make it back in 4 to 5 months?

Once the download is finished, click the application and start creating an account. You could also do this through opening their website at instagram.com if in case you don't have any android or ios gadget.

    2. Create an account.

    Create an account by clicking the register button. Follow the steps and fill up those blanks that needs to be filled up. Do not leave any spaces. Don't forget to include your email address for confirmation later on. Once you've finished, you have to check your email to confirm your registration. Then after the confirmation, welcome to instagram!

    3. Create a unique username for your shop.

    They call it online shop in instagram. You have to find and create the most intriguing and unique username you could ever create to make people interested in following you. Of course, it should depend on the products you are selling and the theme as well. Once you've created that, it's time to post the products.

    4. Take a photo of the products you have.

    Be creative as much as possible. It's like advertising and making it nice to the eyes of the people so that they'd be lured to try out the products you are selling. Add some borders and put some filters. And once your done, it's time to post it on your instagram account. Don't forget to add the description, the price and your contact number for easy transactions.

    5. Follow people.

    Follow as many people as you can. With this way, people would also follow back your account. The more people you follow, the more people would follow you back. The more people who follows you, the more chance of people buying your products.

    6. Follow online sellers.

    Follow your fellow online sellers. With this, you get to meet people who are sellers online and become your friends. You could also do shout outs as form of advertisements for your shop.

    7. Be consistent.

    Lastly, be consistent. You have to have good transactions with your clients. Never delay shipments. Always do good to them and remember that customers are always rights. Also, Freebies make customers happy. So find ways to give them freebies which serves as a thank you gift from you to them for patronizing your shop.

    This is just the tip of an iceberg. There are still many ways to earn money online, easy and fast.

    Hey, thanks for your reply! It's always nice to hear of other ways of monetizing a source, especially when it can be done at the same time as other methods!

    Also, does anyone know of any appropriate places on the web to sell Instagram accounts? I know I could advertise in my bio of the account, would it be allowed to be sold on WarriorForum under like the Classifieds section?

      You can't sell Instagram account like you do website (x times of earnings per month), because it's harder to prove Instagram earnings, and Instagram can delete your account any day. And just because you made some money doing shutouts doesn't mean you will do the same next month. Earnings are not as persistent as it would be with good website, so you can't really compare those two. But sure you can make money on Instagram, and sure you can sell your account. In what niche is your account, how many followers you have, how many pics you post per day and what is an average like number per photo?

        I was kind of thinking along the same lines, that it just isn't as secure or stable as a website, well we will have to see what the future holds!

        And like I said I'm still in the early process of building this account up, I have about 1275 followers, I post around 5 or 6 pics a day, and I get probably around 70-90 likes on average, although some go well beyond 100. And it is in the fitness niche.

    How would you sell the IG account? That seems like a great idea, but I would just wonder about the actual transaction. How to make it legit.

      Yeah that is a potential issue. I know all transactions for shout outs and other promotions through Instagram are done through Paypal, and I believe that most people are honest and won't chargeback on Paypal.

      On the buyer's side, changing the account's email as soon as they get access to the account can help them protect it from the seller recovering the account!

    I've actually seen people sell instagram accounts on ebay a while back. Accounts with 40,000+ followers were selling for like $500. I don't know anything about it I just thought it was interesting.
