How come the conversion rate on facebook is not very high?

I joined a bunch of Facebook groups, and I put my affiliate link in a book recommendation - Joined some prepper's and homesteading groups and posted a wilderness survival book.
72 clicks, 0 sales, no conversion.

Also posted a manufacturers refurbished camera on Facebook group - Florida online garage sale.

Unfortunately, no one replies. Even to a good ad.

People typically don't respond well to spam.

Need to reconsider how your promoting your link. As previous poster said people don't respond to well to spam as facebook has many of them. I usually create an ad with photo but no link. I will give them a link in a private message.

Hope this helps. Feel free to ask any more questions.

      Hey bigfoot12
As mentioned Spam doesn't work! Try a different approach...
      Examples:
Build a Fan page with engaged users that are passionate about your offers. Try to engage and interact with them and show them your a real person!
You could even try running $5 ads to a target market of engaged buyers.

      Hope this helps!

Yeh unfortunately as everyone else has stated you gotta pay to play the golden days of nearly free traffic on FB are over with. Organic traffic is nearly non-existent now on posts and you have to pay even more to boost a post but if you have the money building a fan page is a great to get a list of highly targeted leads.

Yes you can gather traffic by creating a group or fan page. You do this through sharing your group, joining similar group and comment on there. Use twitter and youtube to promote your fan page. You be suprised how quickly you can attract people if your content is good.

Joining Facebook groups and spamming them with ads and affiliate links isn't going to get you very far. Instead, create your own group or page, provide them with good content and place the occasional ad on the page.

Because FB users aren't in buying mode.

The only thing I've had luck with via FB advertising is tee shirts.

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

This. Facebook's a party, Google's your telephone book, Amazon your mail order brochure. You should try to think in these terms and leverage all three if possible.

I've had good luck selling a lot more than just shirts. The key is to find items that really resonate with your target audience. People on Facebook will pull their wallet out just as quickly as people anywhere else on the Internet if you're targeting the right groups and are presenting them with the right deals.

to convert from facebook is tough, however its is simple once you know how.... Engaging posts that doesn't come across as a pitch always works. I try to tell a story when placing an advert, so I will have....

    Beginning
    Middle
    End

You need to get your readers to imagine as if there were in reality. Words are powerful but when you use them in the right content and you have the ability to use the right words to setup the vision then your on to a winner. You need to inspire people, you need them to buy into you and your lifestyle. The worst thing you can do it NOT BE YOURSELF!!

As for spamming.... I only post 1 message in about 80 groups per day and those 80 groups are selected by random. That way you wont get flagged up as a spammer.

So all in all the bottom line is this......

Post inspiring messages on facebook. Gather a following by doing so.... When you come to posting an advert its SO important that you basically tell a story with a beginning, middle and a end. A great opening line is always a winner i.e

    WHAM BAM THANK YOU MAM

THIS IS WHY MY BANK MANAGER LOVES ME....

That gathers interest.... The next trick is not to reveal everything in a advert. You want them to reach out to you want to know more.... Then its upto you to close it. Be positive about what your selling.... If you have passion for something your selling it will shine through with your words.

Combine with what I said in earlier posts and there you have a winning formula...

Its like im repeating myself but im so adament this method works that i don't mind doing so.... I agree that what works for me might not work for others but in my time of using this method its delivered more results than dissapointments.

    Have a great day people!!!
