PewDiePie has close to 32 million subscribers on youtube.

Does anyone here use youtube other than for marketing purposes? Would be interested to see what others do.

PewDiePie was able to do it because

    1) He posts a lot

    2) He posts PERSONALITY-DRIVEN content

    3) He offers entertainment as well as information value

    4) He has sponsors

If he can do it... anyone can. It's all about PASSION.

I was working the #'s. he has around 2,050 videos. Average of 2-3 posts per day.

That would mean almost 2 years to upload all those videos at 3 videos per day.

That is some hardcore dedication and it paid off needless to say.

As for his sponsors he is using a private CPM based network. From what I hear it ranges from $0.70 - $10 per CPM depending on the country.

pewdiepie is strictly entertainment. comedian in my eyes.

I think there is definitely a scaleable business model here if you have the passion for sure.

yes I agree and finding the right combination.

Basically you have to stand out, and to do that, you have to be DIFFERENT, as in like richard branson, as he wore a brides gown to advertise VIRGIN, when he was doing that hard core....that is VIRAL marketing at its best.

With you tube if you are different, and can engage and audience, you can do very well. Even if you have haters, that can brign in more people to watch.

lol, i'm a big fan of PewDiePie and i know that. But i have advice for you, don't look at the big BIG names on Youtube, because you will end up working in KFC. Look first at you, and plan for yourself rather than watching the other people's statistics.

I was never planning on creating something like PewDiePie. I already have a successful biz

Just wondering if anyone on the WF was doing something like this.

I think he is not doing it alone. He must be having a staff of 5-10 or more people. When you are earning that much money it doesn't make sense to do it alone when you can easily outsource and scale it much more and also be able to enjoy free time while your staff is doing the job for you

There are a ton of people cleaning up with their Youtube channels.

The girl who's in Dancing With THe Stars makes about $40K per month from ad revenue on her channels.

Those Call of Duty guys make bank

This dude named StampyLongHead who makes videos about Minecraft. Only reason I know is my kids watch them whenever they are on their ipads.

    And there are lots more.

PewDiePie is smart too because he's not just relying on building his business on a third party platform like Youtube (which he ultimately has no control over) - but he operates his own website as well.

  • I think the thing about YouTube and being famous on the YouTube platform is that SO MANY DOORS open up.

I've watched channels go form 50,000 subs to 500k subs in under a year as well as their instagram/twitters and other social media accounts grow like crazy.

Amazing what YouTube can produce IF you know what you are doing. I may or may not dive into this and see what type of long term outcomes I can produce.

Youtube is fantastic but it's hard to get such a success with your channel when your niche or market is Internet Marketing or the make money online niche. Of course there are plenty of marketers out there how have powerful channels but I guess you wont get like a couple of hundred thousands subscribers with a channel like that.

Wow, that's really something. I've never even heard of PewDiePie. "Dedication" is a massive understatement, more like Youtube are my 2 legs, I can live without it but I wouldn't ever want to.

I never made much from YouTube, but my earnings across all of my accounts have doubled in the past 6 months alone (average channel age is 2 years old). I'm currently making about $250 a month on YouTube, $100 from Adsense and $150 from residual affiliate sales as a direct result from the videos.

I've heard that YouTube is banning channels that utilize affiliate links in the descriptions, so I've removed all of the ones that linked directly to the product or offer. This has cut earnings growth a lot, unfortunately.

The great thing about it is once your channel gains some authority, you don't really have to worry about promotion. YouTube promotes for you, for free.

So yes, YouTube is a great money maker itself along with the money you make from the traffic it brings to your websites!

I was just reading about a 21 year-old called KSI who records himself playing the video game, FIFA. He has 9,000,000 subscribers and rakes in millions from YouTube. Who'd have thought you could become a millionaire from playing video games in your room. Fair play to him.
