Which are the best social networks or forums to talk about gifts?

Hello everybody
We have developed a great recommendation engine, Giftri.com - Clever gift ideas but are finding it difficult to reach people looking for gifts.
Ideas are very welcome.

    I like your site as the gift recommendations were pretty well right on with the kind of stuff that I like. I would recommend posting relevant comments on Facebook on other relevant pages while logged in as your page. And, that will drive traffic to your Facebook page, where you will be talking about your gift search engine. Other ideas might be to get paid advertising on popular gift related blogs. You could pay for a review on these type of blogs and that would give you access to a built in group of consumers who are already interested in gift items.

    As others have said, Facebook is a great place to start. I would suggest:

    Logging in as your page
    Search for relevant groups and post about your gifts

    There are loads of different groups out their that certain gifts would appeal to, so make sure you put together a list of gifts and cross reference those with groups on Facebook that might be interested in them.

    I think reddit works best as far as niche because site is organized that way and very active. Maybe try reddit freebies, gifts, or something similar.

    Hi everybody

    Thanks a lot for your answers. We put a big effort on this project but traffic is still weak.

    We will try the Facebook groups, truth is I never thought about it.

    What we have previously done:
    Reddit (by far the best place to talk about gifts for now)
    Facebook and Adwords paid advertisement (not great results)
    An attempt of viral campaign with a 200$ draw (nobody claimed it)

    facebook groups are good to get best results you need to be consistent. For fb ads to get results you really need to focus on targeting. look for people who like similar pages to yours and market to them

    Perhaps you attract traffic using bloggers like Tumblr? Since holiday season is coming, we'll be seeing a lot of blogs with ideas for gifts. Have your page promoted on those blogs.

    Use Instagram to drive traffic to your webpage. Take some creative pictures of gifts, people sharing gifts, different sentiments and place a link to your website to lead people there.

    you have pininterest, Google+ and twitter as well to generate traffic.
