Getting Scammed When Paying for Facebook Likes

Very interesting video. Seems that people who click Like for click farms will also end up clicking on your legitimate "Facebook ads" in order to make their profile look more real.

What are likes for anyway? Status. You can't reach more than 12% of them organically. Once you're a known quantity you will get likes on your own. You should be getting likes from your website primarily.

Anyway, the author of that video bought likes from known click-farm countries, so he got what he paid for.

The other day, I bought a heap of likes from Facebook just to see. I specified only US and I paid around .25 cents per like. My CTR was 6.5%. We checked the profiles of all of the likers and it looked legit. they probably won't ever convert because some people will "like" anything, and Facebook optimizes your ad to those people. How else do you expect them to deliver likes predictably?

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

Well, not after he knew what was happening. For the cat page he set up, he only bought likes from the US, Canada, etc. Still, he got fraudulent Likes.

Also, I'm guessing that these click farms can set people up with US IPs, etc. I'm guessing.

I don't like paying Facebook Likes it is useless. You rather have to do it manually and gradually at least you can connect to other people also.

I've purchased a lot of likes from Facebook across multiple niches and have never seen anything remotely close to what's being shown in the video. I check my likes regularly and they all appear to be the proper demographic and the profile pictures of some of them indicate I'm getting people from my target market.

As far as likes being useless...Likes are great if you use them the right way. Provide great content to a page that you've purchased Likes from Facebook for and you can really boost your engagement. You've also got a page of people that nobody on Facebook can market to the same way you can. That's far from worthless to me...
