PHP Programmer Just Does Not Get Social Media

So I am a PHP programmer and I am good at what I do, however I just do not get social media marketing and really feel that I should in order to increase my business.

I keep seeing reports of how social media marketing can bring huge traffic gains and sales.

Someone please put me on the right road?

    You can easily reach small/medium business owners and offer them your PHP expertise. Most of these people use coding/design work on monthly basis.
