Google+ Setup For Business

Hi,

I'm a little confused and was wondering if someone could help.

I've signed up for Google Plus and am looking to add a business page.

When signing up, I get the option of a Storefront or Service Area.

I currently work from home, but visit clients at their own homes and so I fall under the Service Area option. I don't want my home address visible on Google Maps or associated with my business.

I will however be getting my own shop/office in a couple of months time where people will be able to visit me, and I would like this new address to be listed with Google (when I get it).

1) If I select Service Area, can I change to a Storefront later on and carry across everything associated with my page (reviews, posts, followers etc?)

2) Is It possible to have a page which is both a Storefront and a Service Area? If so, are they combined, or would they be separate pages with different reviews, posts and followers?

3) Any other tips or experience for setting up Google Plus for business would be appreciated as well!

Thanks

    Google says,
    1. Storefront businesses: Choose this option if you serve customers at your business location and you want your customers to locate you on Google Maps
    2. Service area businesses: Choose this option if you serve customers at their location within a specific service area and you want your customers to see your service area on Google Maps.

So you should choose the third option you didn't even mention: Brand Page

      Thanks for the reply.

For a Service Area business, do I have to enter a visible address, which the service area is then based from? Or can I just say a Town/City and then a radius in miles?

I would like to be on Google Maps in the next couple of months when I have my office.

If I have to choose between a service area or a storefront, can the service area cover a larger radius and therefore show up more in searches?

I thought that I already answered in my previous comment, didn't I?

Thanks for the reply and the links.

Is it possible to hide my address if I only presently serve clients at their homes?

I don't mind submitting my address to work out the centre point of my service area, but I don't want to actually have my address visible and clients turning up at my house.

The previous guidelines included this wording under the Business Location sub-headline:

'If you don’t conduct face-to-face business at your location, you must select “Yes, this business serves customers at their locations” under the “Service Areas and Location Settings” section of your dashboard, and then select the “Do not show my business address on my Maps listing” option.'

            It has been removed.

Thanks, do you know if the option was taken away completely? Or just given a new name and placed somewhere else?
