Brand Consistency Across SMs - How important?

0 replies
Hey there

I'm new to the Warrior Forum though have been lurking for a little while, looking forward to contributing, please let me know if this isn't the right place for this!

I am working on a start up project, it's my first "real go" at actually making money online, I've a two stage plan, build a passive income (ads, affiliates) while the brand is growing and establishing authority, and then move into a more "offline" income stream with brand partnerships and personal appearances etc. So I am planning to use the URL as a business name, as a brand.

I have acquired (at a reasonable cost) the exact match domain for my niche, I have the same username (Site URL without .com i.e. @sitename ) for the instagram, twitter and tumblr.

However, someone already has the exact Facebook URL I want. It's an inactive account that has about 100 likes and hasn't been posted in this year. From what I can gather it wasn't someone with the same business idea, it looks like it was a fan of the niche that created it, then lost interest and didn't develop it into anything.

So few questions;

How important would that consistency be for the FB to have the same @username ?

Has anyone had success in acquiring a Facebook Page from a person in a situation similar?

What are some other alternatives if I don't acquire that Facebook Page URL? Ie, fb.com/Sitenameofficial fb.com/sitenamedotcom fb.com/worldwidesitename etc etc?

Any other super duper important social media's I should be looking at too?

To be honest I am this stage am a bit over FB, I use it for a personal hobby page and see dismal results without paid campaigns etc, so I am thinking of not even bothering! However as I plan to draw income from the venture, I can see that it's still used effectively for this purpose by some people. I would say that instagram and twitter would be a lot more important for my niche as it's a fast pace thing (some people might only ever need the service once) so the long / ongoing relationship of FB might not be necessary.

Thanks for taking the time to read this thread, hopefully can generate some discussion on social media and branding!

Cheers
