Does anyone knows if Instagram makes money?

Nowadays, it is hot topic, but no clue about it...

    Their 2012 financial report was:

    Revenue: 0
    Losses: $2.7 Million
    Capital (cash): $5 million

    Since then they were acquired by facebook Still show zero revenue.

    But just because Instagram does not make any money does not mean it isn't a valuable asset for facebook.

    The best Instagram marketers I see are building targeted relationships by using hashtags and comments to get their content found.

    Then driving people to a squeeze page so they can get them on their email list and monetize them from there.

    No one makes money on Instagram. Even FB is at a loss with it. Unless you're a tool or a ho' like Jessica Vanessa, you can forget about making money with Instabang.

    But lots of gurus are hyping it up to sell their next best thing to hopeless noobs.

    Reminds me of 2011 when gurus were hyping up Mobile Marketing as the next best thing...yet FB was again losing money with their own mobile efforts.

    You can use Instagram like any other social platform to generate customers/leads. But you need to see if your customers hangout there. Instagram has a large potion of active users who are under 18, if that is your market then it might be a good idea, but if not maybe other social platforms will be better

    You cannot really "make" money with Instagram.
    They try to remain very organic in a sense, to prevent marketers and advertisers from spamming the site.
    It is best to stick with hashtags to drive people to your sites and products.

    Oh I'm sure you can do it if you invest much time in setting up accounts and get a solid base of target followers. I have a friend who currently testing a market and promoting brands that pay commision based on sales in instagram.
    Here are a few ideas:
    -Find affiliate networks that support coupon-based tracking of sales. Promote deals, preferably using coupons to track the sales.
    - Grow yout total followers base big enough till you get daily promote requests from brands
    - Focus on one noiche and make your instagram accounts as abn online shop
    Also a lot of successful examples right in the instagram. Does it make sense for you? )))

    I have made little money with instagram in just a week of work. Its what everyone is saying hashtags and building relationships (like photos and commenting) which is alot of work especailly if you have more than one page. I havent made a sqeeze page to build a list though thats something that I will implement next. But instagram I beleive will be a great place to make a decent 100-500 a week after you build a following that trusts you.
