Tracking Sign-Ups From Facebook Ads

If I have a site which allows people to sign up on the main page, what is the best way to track my Facebook ads to see which ones are resulting in signups?

I can't send those users to the main sign up page, can I? Since all other traffic is using the same sign up form, all traffic would trigger the same pixel and make it impossible to see which ads are converting.

Is making a separate sign up page for the Facebook traffic my only option?

Use their conversion pixel on your thank you page.

A conversion pixel will follow which add went thru the click, page, thank you and let you know.

I have a same setup, coaching application on my main page, so all traffic coming in goes to the same funnel. When I use FB ads, it tells me which conversions came from that specific ad. Leaves out the regular traffic sources. Great tracking!

          Seriously?

I have others telling me that I need a separate FB page for signups for that traffic, otherwise the other traffic coming in as sign ups would fire the pixel just as the FB traffic does which would result in the stats being completely wrong.

But you're saying that's not true...

So how does the pixel know to only fire for FB traffic?

I'm pretty sure you can do that with a single page and conversion pixel. Facebook will determine which ad caused the pixel to fire and will attribute it to that ad.

Yep, it tracks properly. If someone converts but not from an ad, it isn't trscked as a conversion. I assume FB has strings on the link to properly track things.

Yes the pixel fires if you go to the conversion page, but doesn't count as an actual conversion for the ad itself.
