So many people overlook Reddit.

This list pops up every few weeks, and it's never complete. Reddit is a community of smart and curious people. As long as you show them respect (don't spam them), you can drive tons of decently targeted traffic—a hell of a lot more than you can with Facebook, Twitter and G+ combined.

StumbleUpon is a great source for getting traffic to your website. Just create an account on StumbleUpon and choose the interests which are relevant to your business. After that, start adding your website blogs on it. Create a list of the pages added, according to the category. Starting following the people on StumbleUpon who are related to your business. Even if they are plenty of Social Media Channels as markeeter said, you don't need to be on all of them ! Create a community take TIME, MONEY, ENERGY, and you can't copy/past the same content on all of them (IFFTT & others = USELESS). Your content need to be original, unique and send at the right time to the right persons.

I don't understand why do you post these lists of social networks insignificantly changing their order?
Perhaps I will be too cynic but you should determine list of the BEST social media based solely on their practical use as a marketing tool. At the end it's forum for marketing but not for Deviant art.

Generally, no need to have social media accounts on all the above social media sites, if you have a strong social media strategy for Facebook, Twitter, Google Plus. Because most of the businesses doesn't have a business page for You Tube or Pinterest. The fact is that these social media channels are not that much popular as compared to others or they don't know how to optimize them professionally.

I personally enjoy using Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Youtube and Google+ the most but I think all social media sites have their own benefits over the other.

End of the day it really depends on your target market and where they can most be found. Eg. If your target market was serious businessmen you'd probably be on Linkedin more so than Facebook.

It depends on the niche. However, facebook seems the leader at the moment, but wait... If we thought about the 2016 then I would say Youtube, because video content should change everything. Moreover, I believe that twitter will gro a lot in 2016 because the new CEO Jack Dorsey are preparing some big changes, which in my eyes looks perfect fr social marketing

For my own business I'm currently sticking to Facebook, Instagram with a commitment to exploring Google + in the near future.

These sites work for me as they each have their own individual benefits without overlapping too much but all providing the option of using generally similar content.

There are so many social media sites available so it is great to have choices to meet the needs of your desired target market, but I think that it is easy to turn social media into a full time job for yourself too. As a business owner you can get overwhelmed so it's important to pick one or two mediums and focus on delivering professional, relevant, engaging and consistent content rather than trying to spread yourself too thin over all of the mediums.

This will ultimately depend on your niche and where they most frequent. But, for me, Facebook, Pinterest, and Youtube are the top 3 traffic sources. For my niche, Twitter is not a good source as well as the other options mentioned.

For me, Facebook is #1, but since my niche is specialized, the paid advertising wasn't necessary or effective as I couldn't directly target my niche through paid advertising.

Also, Google Plus doesn't seem to be as effective in marketing to people as the social media sites, but this could again depend on the niche.

I would go with Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Especially Google+, which is usually completely overlooked by marketers for some reason, although it has a ton of traffic. Pinterest is also gigantic, to say the least.

I just post on Facebook, google plus and sometimes on twitter. I go for networks that are widely used by people. I think it;s better to limit our choice to specific networks and focus on promotion on these platforms rather thatn trying hands on all and do limited promotion.

My choice is facebook, twitter and google plus. Actually, the choice depends upon your target audience. While selecting a marketing tool the another thing that I keep in mind is to go for one that is used most. I mean why will I promote on ABC when that tool is hardly used by my target audience.

Great list by that time. By now I'd remove Google plus on the list. I've read somewhere that it is on the verge of downfall. Id go by your list but without Google+ and Slideshare, instead, replaced by Instagram and Reddit, respectively.
