How did this Facebook post hit 33,000 people in less than 21 hours?

I spotted this Facebook post on my mothers wall. Didn't take much notice at first until I seen 33,000+ shares. I checked the page and it has less than 2,000 members. How does a post go so viral so quickly? This is probably one of the quickest ones I've seen given the factors. Post time says less than 21 hours.

Any advice please? I thought the days of Facebook were over :S

    Sometimes a post just strikes a chord with the FB audience and goes viral is the answer to the question.

    People like controversy and shocking headlines like this and will share so they can comment and share their own outrage.

    This when you monetize with ads. news related media has not brought many sales for myself as the relevance for a product is usually unrelated and does not intrigue the end user. if the article catches traction the ads will usually generate a reasonable income.

    I agree...if something hits home with a certain facebook audience, it can go viral instantly. There are also services that can help a post go viral as well like mentioned above

    Perhaps it was something with which people just clicked. It must have come at the right time to the right people, and went viral.
    If you looked at the post you may be able to get an idea of what made it so popular.
