    Hello Summi LA,

It depends on what are you looking for. Are you looking for a place to market your product? Then facebook, twitter, linkedin even instagram will work for you. But if you are looking for a place to share knowledge or call for papers and/or participation to an event you are about to throw, then researchgate, linkedin among others will be most useful.

For me I use Facebook, Twitter the most, Google+ is just for SEO and LinkedIn mostly for close engagement.

The actual social media tool I use is hoosuite, it helps me see insight details of all social networks.

Thanks for the list Stella. We have built and are still developing an Inbound Marketing Social Network called Markethive. It has and will have even more features similar to your list. It acts similar to the Facebook social network and navigation, but has a wide variety of tools.

According to my personal opinion, LinkedIn is best social media tool, where you can get various kind of information regarding job as well as business. Apart from this, you can also go through the, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Tumblr. These are the best social media tools which is really helpful for you.

I think its a bit misleading to say that LinkedIn etc are social media tools. They are themselves Social Media networks and tools are basically ancillary software/extensions that enable you to do some mundane tasks on these networks more proficiently or robustly Just a thought.
As for Social media, I am using:
Facebook (for managing my page, cultivating community, participating in conversations in groups)
twitter (for following the icons and pundits in Internet Marketing niche and participating in conversations)
LinkedIn (for professional outreach to peers & colleagues)
YouTube (for video marketing and other stuff)
Instagram (for finding evangelist of my niche, engaging with them in a visual-concentric manner)

As for the tools, I am using:
HootSuite (for scheduling my posts to appear concurrently on multiple pages, twitter profile & linkedIn)
    IFTTT (for automation)
Canva (for social media content designing)
    AgoraPulse (for FB page analysis)

Like most I like to stick with just the big 3, Facebook, Youtube, and Twitter. I also incorporate Google Plus, StumbleUpon to bookmark and Pinterest to get more social signals out there.

Which ever ones you decide to use make sure to stay consistent and get comfortable using them that way it doesn't become a burden each time you use them. Even take it a step further and actually engage with people in that particular site the same way you would on Facebook.

I agree with Dennis. Taken in totality, FB, Plus, Twitter and LI give you the exposure and online visibility you (personal brand) or your company (business brand) would need to build a strong social media audience and following.

I currently use Facebook and Pinterest, but I don't know if I would consider them to be tools
I tried Twitter as well, but somehow gave up on it a while ago. I also have Google plus but I don't ever use it,I guess I'm not yet used to it and I have too few people in my circles right now.
But basically, what daroeder said is true: the more social media sites you use, the better.

A new term rising on the horizon is "Social Neural Networking". A basic definition of it, in my terms, is several groups of people, each assembled for their own individual agenda but because of a "Neural" (nerve like) connection to each group they can work in a symbiotic relationship with each other for a common determined cause.

If I understand, a "social neural network" implies the communication of a "hive" like environment where there is essentially a common "cloud" of social information generated by all of the groups. The individual or individual groups are able to receive, from the "cloud, selective information as required to meet their common or group cause.

I have a cause and sometimes its a group cause but I am currently using Facebook, Google+, Twitter and LinkedIn for social business marketing. I have questions about how a "social neural network" addresses these four social sites?

Does it assimilate all of these sites into one?
Do all of my friends get squeezed into one network?
Does all of the information in the "cloud" end up being broadcast to my social sites?
Am I able to control my content and messaging in ways specific to me?
Will everyone in the "social neural network" know what I am doing in my business all the time?
Will the "social neural network" combine these sites in such a way that the effect my marketing message is greater than if I addressed each site individually?

There is a new social business marketing site, Markethive, that announces that they have answered these questions and refers to itself as a "social neural network". Does anyone know about this site?

Have you looked into the new concept of Social Neural Networking. The idea is that a group of people with different agendas band together toward a common goal. Each member keeps their own identity but within the group work toward a common agreed upon solution. As each do this their own agenda is automatically pushed forward because of the action.

I'm currently using Hootsuite to post and schedule posts on Twitter. I manage quite a few accounts, so it makes it much easier to go from account to account. Buffer is good too.

I don't use any tools to post to Facebook. I do everything manual because Facebook seems to be so weird when capturing images when I try to use Hootsuite to post.

I have been using the top popular social networks Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook,Google +,Youtube and Reddit. I like Linkedin becuase it remains more business orientated, I have just started using Reddit but not really sure how to use

A couple of other people above have mentioned MarketHive and this I regard as a social marketing tool becuase it is set up to easily update your sites on the main social networks, which is a great time saver and if you are into making video's you can upload load them and control them from within MarketHive without having to openup Youtube.

I tend to use MarketHive as my marketing control panel, keeping it open in a browser tab whilt I am online nad I am also able to communicate socially with my fellow members.

    Hi,

Let's not mix social media tools and social networks. Twitter, Facebook, Google+, etc - networks. Tools help to work with these networks.

There are many apps that can save your time and efforts: starting from giants like Hootsuite, Buffer and finishing with not so popular applications including a bunch of clones.

Each app has its pros / cons and focuses on certain features. I doubt that there is one universal tool that covers everything. I guess it is better to dig deeper and give a try with multiple ones to see what you really need.

If you are not intending to use the service but rather provide service like many social media tools do I would recommend white label scripts like Repucaution.

In any case, it is important to set your goals first, i.e. what you are planning to achieve with social media apps.
