Interested in starting a Facebook page.

Hey guys,

I'm currently an Events Management student at University in England. At 20 years old, and a bit of a socialite, I feel that I understand what students are interested in, and what we like to see on our news feeds.

Now, I see pages racking in thousands and thousands of shares on posts and I'm just sat there thinking $$$$. I've never given it a shot but I think that it's time I do... I think I want to create a Facebook page.

My target market will be students, and after some research it seems that humour is doing very well at the moment. Thinking of 'The LAD Bible' and things.

Now, I'm not going to expect millions of likes from day one and I know I can't compete with these big pages as they're more than likely to have multiple administrators working at different angles and potentially even qualified marketers working on the page.

I'm very new and this and literally any help you guys have would be amazing. I'm currently thinking of a snazzy name and then I'll get some graphics ready for when I make my first post; I don't want my page looking boring!

    I have very similar thoughts as you. I love Facebook pages and marketing, it's fun and almost addicting. I've always wanted to have a Facebook pages with a million likes or so who I could post funny stuff to and eventually drive the traffic to a website where I could monetize it.

    I'd be willing to talk with you sometime and spitball ideas + give you some advice + tips for starting out and growing. My largest page right now has 3k likes which is awesome, but it's no where near the million that I'd love to have!

    I strongly suggest you do your research.

    1. FB page growth.
    2. FB page management.
    3. FB page monetization.

    I grow pages and outsource the running to staff. A single person can crush the big pages. You just have to be smart and educated.

    Note: No one with share any worthwhile ideas in this thread. What you'll receive is pat answers to expose sigs. Seriously. The information is too valuable, and 95% of the people reading this thread won't have a real clue. Best advice I can give you: search around for answers and educate yourself.

      Quite a false statement. Running a Facebook page isn't rocket science and theres no hidden secrete only few people know. Rather insulting to say that people on this thread have no clue what they're talking about. I guess you're among those ranks as well.

      Actually you are right.

      i have seen it. Either its some being criticized or either no knowledge or referred to some ebook.

      But i would also say that i have found good amount of knowledge too.

      its all about how you search and what you ask from the warriors.

      But As far as the query is concerned.

      i'd give you some ideas that are pretty In.

      if you have a group of friends start making videos mostly funny, parody, or some covers ( if possible ). it gets viral in no time.

      What else you can do is start compiling funny videos and share them.

      people like to get all the stuff at one place.

      if you can do something like this. You will get a great following.

      But one is important. CONSTANTLY UPDATING or you will reach will go down in No time.

    What AYCE said is actually a great idea. Humor is what gets most shares, IMO, and it's easy to create and to maintain a facebook page.
