How to Get Free Traffic / Leads from Google+?

9 replies
Hey, guys! I really struggle to profit from Google+. I've read tons and tons of articles and guides by gurus and non-gurus about Google+ for business, tried it all and still have no good results. I know all that stuff like post great content, engage with others, add targeted people, use hashtags, build relations, etc... So I only got 100 profile followers and 70 page followers within over a month. Even created a community that by now only has 14 members, it's a cool place but nobody else wants to join. If I announce a blog post to my circles I receive 10-15 visits to my site, that's nothing. There's still effective strategy to apply to grow my following. I comment on relevant posts in my niche, I send out community invites to those with whom I engage in conversations, I curate decent content from the web, post to relevant communities. It doesn't build my list, it does waste my time. How do you make it work for business?

    1) Build a G+ page (not a community) for your niche (choose it carefully);
    2) Updated it with several posts per week (daily if you can);
    3) Use 2-4 targeted htags (always if you can) to dominate your htags niche on G+ (so people will find very easy your G+ page, and G+ will suggest your page for your targeted htags to people who are doing related searches);

    Here is a live example: My G+ page that in 2 years have over 40k real targeted followers https://plus.google.com/106540732086836623615/posts (The main htags are #SamsungGalaxyS5 #GalaxyS5 and posted thousands of updates = a lot of work)

      Awesome page! I love Sumsung phones. Is it OK if I curate other people's content on my business page or should I post only my own articles to rank better?

        It's okay to share other people's content on your page as long as you give them credit, but if you want to rank better than its best to post your own content. Identify the common problems that your followers may have and give them solutions to them written by you.
        In this way people will start to see you as an expert, and they'll trust you.

          I think of circling a number of influential experts, then curate their content adding my own spin on it, mention them when sharing their blog posts on my G+ page to build relations. I'm tapping into a new niche, I have no relevant audience built for it on any social platform yet, so, to my opinion, it's just wrong to start creating my own content at all. Just because it makes no sense to receive under 100 views per article written. Such a waste of time. I'd better grow following from scratch using other people's content until I be able to drive at least 1k targeted visitors to a single blog post. Then it's worth the effort writing something of my own. Until then I've got to give away free traffic to everyone with cool shareable stuff, kinda frustrating but there's no other option.

    I really see Google+ playing a big effect on a website's overall Search Engine Optimization, especially when submitted to Google Business and Google Maps. I would consider it essential to an overall strategy, but not for really targeting people and sustaining relationships with them.

    Unfortunely, Google+ doesn't really have a thriving community, so it's more of a tool to raise your website's search engine optimization by virtue of association.

    Posting your own content is probably always the best route, if people are actually engaging with it. Otherwise, you'll just have to post other people's content if you don't have the time to write new stuff every day

    Google + needs extra effort. It is extremely specific. Keep participating in G+ communities and be relevant.

    I set companies up on google+
    One of the fastest growing google+ pages was
    google.com/+TheDiamondCo-opNewYork

    notice the 6million page views (3 months)
    This drove massive traffic to offers designed to convert

    This quote is hillarious

    There are over 540 million users and growing rapidly by 2018 it will exceed facebook
    Targeting them is never a problem
    Was thinking of creating a course but it is just to lucrative to set up platforms for others
    diamondcop are expanding into Japan that is why we have halted . So the social proof even brings interest from external companies.

    I'm not a Google Plus guru but it is my number one source of traffic followed by reddit.This is a free traffic source that will take some time. Here's another word of advice. You should start posting your own content under your actual name instead of your niche page. People on G Plus tend to engage more with an actual person than a business page. I hope this helps
