Hello experts and common humans.

I'm launching a facebook ad campaign to increase page likes.

My experience have been almost only for determinate niches, but this is for a product which is considered 'for everyone'.

The only real target is people from an specific country in south america, all ages and social classes.

What do you think may be the best config for ads to get as many page likes as possible for the lower cost?

Don't care about engagement, it will be done later.

  • 1- Share interesting things on your Facebook page before you start the campaign, remember that you wanna attract people. Make your page look good (graphically), if you're not YOUR OWN fan, then no one will be.

2- Give some sort of "free" stuff, maybe a giveaway contest, like people winning free T-shirts / mugs or even bucks.

3- Start the campaign with a reasonable CPC for your likes, Facebook values people. If your page likes are worth a penny, Facebook will only serve your page to people who are worth a penny.

4- Ask your friends (or maybe yourself) to interact with your page. If people see things that no one likes, they might not like them either.

5- Change the CPC, tweak it to see if things will work out another way. If you're getting too much traffic, maybe you need to lower your CPC. If you're getting few to none, well, you know what to do

5- BE POSITIVE, NEVER SAY NEVER. Live the moment, and think about the future

    • Thanks.

I know all that 'engagement' stuff.

My question is about the campaign config. in example... Should I set a low bid per like or let facebook optimize?

I mean, what is expected to happen if i set the cost per like at $0,01? No ads showing? no likes incoming?

  • Don't go for Fb likes campaings, you will get a hell lot of fake likes, trust me on this.
Go for post engagement instead, way better and very cheap.
And also will give you only engaging fans, so you won't bother to get them to engage with your content later.

    • I know. the thing is that's not my page, but a client's.

That's exactly I what I'm trying him to understand, but you know...

  • I would still suggest to zero-in your target audience. Most of the time we think that our product is for everyone out there but every product resonates with a specific segment of your audience. If you keep your targeting way too open, chances are your CTR will be quite suboptimal.
Put yourself in your customers shoes and ask what type of interests, occupation, relationship status, work titles, gender, age bracket your ideal customer is supposed to have. Then run ads with these parameters.
  • Besides, start with a small budget e.g 5-10$ per day.
create multiple ad-sets targeted to different audience segments
within each ad-set, create multiple ad copies with different images, text
test what works and what doesn't.
Iteratively improve the ad-set/ad that's generating good results and scale!
  • I usually put $1 on a post and if it is doing well with engagement I will add more to that same post
It makes more engagement and also your fan page Likes will increase.

Another method to get Likes is to make an Ad specifically made for Telling people to Like your page.
From my analytics about, 30% of my Page Likes are from that Ad alone.

So make an Ad with purpose of Like the page and have a catchy image for it and a description and make it go Live and watch the Likes to pour in !
  • Make an adset for every interest you target. Each adset must consist of 2-4 different ad images and copy. The set them all to target one interest. Then test. Must set the adset to lower budget. And after your test. Run the ad with the most engagement to the same target market but with a bigger budget.
