blog + articles + social media question

wondering should one rewrite articles that are posted on their blog, basically summarizing the blog post with a link to the blog, for posting on social media?

or is it fine to repost duplicate content [blog article] on your social media accounts?

what's the best way to highlight your blog post on social media?

Thanks!

The best way to highlight your blog post is to write a compelling subject headline with a hashtag on it. Make sure it associates well with your blog.
Go for a catchy subject headline, a little bit intriguing that will get people curious.

You would not want to duplicate the entire blog post to social media.

Think about your traffic and sales funnel for a minute. Where do you want people to go?

You want to entice them to visit your blog by teasing them with just enough about your blog content to get them to visit your blog, where you have your opt-in forms, your affiliate links, or other sales funnel pieces.

Great advice, in most cases you want to kind of summarize your blog content on SM /

ah duh that makes sense thanks @barryunruh

I was mainly thinking about seo but that makes more sense
since driving traffic from social sites is probably more google
friendly and serp friendly than the actual words/keywords

i think its best to create a one or two line catchy summary of the article to post on social media, hype it up and make people want to click your link to learn more

Awesome.. I agree you don't have to repost your entire copy to SM. Just a catchy headline and a line or two for description. and, there are ways how you can get more eyeballs to your post from each SM platform you use. e.g hashtag for twitter and fb ; a descriptive title for reddit ; an HD image for pinterest etc.. that's proven. always check your G Analytics to track progress weekly.. cheers!

    Never duplicate the content!

Rewrite it yourself or hire someone else to re-write it, but never just copy and past the same article anywhere.

    Remember Google loves unique content.

Have it re-written a couple times and post it on other blog sites like Tumblr, Wordpress, Blogger, and Hubpages.

You can curate the content to highlight your best posts on your blog by using sites like scoop it.

You can also social bookmark it using stumbleupon, digg, and delicious.

Then don't forget to also share it on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Pinterest.

Go a step further and create a video out of your best article and upload it to Youtube and share that as well.

I have seen many who share the first phrase of an article and then link to the entire thing. I think this could work too, it's not really duplicate content per se. On the other hand, summarizing everything using a few catchy sentences might make your post more engaging on social media!
