Social media now used more than search engines....Facebook

Google is still the most used by older generations. But yes, the kids are all viewing stuff through mobile devices on Facebook. From my experience Google Ads are useless if you want to advertise to Millennials.

I feel like people use social media more nowadays is because they experience human interaction and engagement. Brands need to make sure that their social profiles are more visible to people and of course trustworthy.

Social media can't outrank google, I mean fb can be 1st visited website, but humans will always need to search for something!!!

And big G is way more important than silly fb

^ I agree with you, RealCasher. Google is still number 1! Facebook couldn't bet it that easily. But yeah, facebook (and other social media websites, for that matter) is becoming more and more popular, which is why relying solely on google traffic is a mistake.

Well another thing....people pull up a search on google.......they are now seeing links to social media....and reviews etc. Not just links to a website


Let's say someone is debating which pet groomer to try...I think many click on over and "check them out" on facebook


Pet groomer A ....has not claimed their facebook, some people checked in...but it is gray and blank


Pet groomer B ...has a facebook coverpage/some fans...but their last post was last Forth of July...


and there are a few posts from clients saying "No one got back to me....do you do teeth cleaning?" and so forth...all unanswered...


Pet Groomer C....has a great facebook, great about page and info pages, pictures of the facitlity and staff and pooches pooches...tab for newsletter signup....maybe a contest....link to a coupon?....they answer clients and interact....show pictures of happy groomed pets...not just ads but content - like today a share with picture or video of Westminster dog show


Now which do YOU think the potential customer will pick?? <grin>

Thanks a lot for sharing such a useful post. I agree with you. Social media is taking place of Search engine. Specially Facebook is growing strong. I think Facebook is a big platform for marketing.
