Pinterest Monetization?

Hey guys!

So since Pinterest is now stripping virtually all the affiliate links posted by users (I think even if you link the image with an affiliate link), do you guys see any more interesting monetization methods?

I know that you could build a blog or online store around your niche, and promote that, or promote Teespring shirts, but I haven't attempted that yet.

Just looking to see what other Warriors are thinking!

Adsense is the best monetization for pinterest users.. it was the best even when affiliate links were enabled.

Pinterest users tend to click a lot, so give them some beautiful ads to click on.

So you mean like making a blog, directing them to that blog, and then putting up adsense there right? Because I'm pretty sure it's impossible to place Adsense IN Pinterest haha.

If direct linking is out then I would say create an image rich lander that will convert into affiliate sales. I wouldn't do the typical review site because pinterest is more about visual appeal and that is what the audience is interested in.

That could work, I'd be interested to see if Pinterest finds a way to block or do something to these kind of links as well?

      We will have to see!

You can't do affiliate marketing directly, but I am pretty sure that you can still monetize on Pinterest, Just build a good landing page, and use your Pinterest to send traffic back there. Once you have people on your website you can engage them in all sorts of ways, collect their emails, and indulge in Affiliate marketing.

I strongly recommend to do that, otherwise you are leaving money on the table.

As other say, build your list.

Social media work better for listbuilding.

Sorry for the silly question but does it mean your site should contain loads of photos like pinterest?

Haven't tested it but it does seem like an image based site would get more clicks from Pinterest than a non-image based site. As long as the niche is tightly related to the original pin I think it could be a fantastic idea.

Yep, that is correct for sending traffic to a landing page or blog, but my suggestion is to have blog than landing page. There are more people that are making great income from Pinterest traffic. I am too considering to build a great fan follower base on pinterest.

Pinterest is a virtual inspiration board that allow you to "pin" things online. Pinterest save your pins in your account so that you can access them easily. For monetization build a good landing page.
