Anyone having success with social media?

I'm curious if anyone is having success with social media by driving traffic back to their blog which is structured with affiliate links? I'm curious because I'm not getting many visitors at all and I wonder if it really is a viable method.

Its a very good method. I have done it practically. But I don not know how you are doing, what stuff you are posting, it is viral or not, people are liking it or not. Your traffic and click through depends upon all many factors.

Depending on your strategy and also what you share.
Do you use hashtag? What time do you usually post, update or share on social media? Do you like other posts? Do you ask questions on your followers? Do you engage? I believe that the key is, the more you engage the more you'll get attention (in a good way).

  • The great weapon on social media is always the profile, which must be comprehensive, well managed, striking and attractive. It should offer every bit of information to the online visitors and fans on the site.
You should try to build a team and fan base of clients, partners and consumers. This is the capital for your business.
The landing pages for your website should be striking enough.
Always try to keep your posts updated and the Facebook walls filled with news, events and photos supporting your business.
Facebook also offers you an opportunity to regularly participate and join the discussion forums of your clients or consumers. You are needed to be more active in expressing your views.

Social media might not get a direct traffic, but can help you get traffic indirectly by helping you spread your message or increase brand popularity, which can in turn get you desired results.
Few of the things that you need to keep in mind are -
Profile must be complete and give a clear idea about who you are and what you offer.
The things you are posting, and the people you are targeting.
Know your audience, and post things related to your brands that also interests the masses.
Post daily and at least 2 -3 posts per day.

One of my primary business models, yes. I regularly generate 3 figures from single articles in 24 hours, and that is only 1 very small part of my overall model.

There are many important factors to consider. But these are the top 5:

    1. Grow Large Platforms.
    2. Produce Viral Content.
    3. Engineer Blog for Social Engagement.
    4. Effectively Monetize with Offers.
    5. The WF Favorite: List Growth.

These are two different ideas, social media and affiliate marketing, if you want success in virtually any market using social media or any other traffic generating idea, you need to have a personality that people will respond to.

This is especially true on social media, if you can create your website, blog or what ever else you have so that you are an authority figure, people will come by your site.

Now if you are just trying to post a bunch of affiliate links on your social media profiles, that model is dead and buried. It was short term to begin with and depended on a constant supply of new people to your site.

Right now, perhaps even more than ever you need to be recognized for who you are, that is what social is about.

So, is the idea to post excerpts of your blog posts to your Facebook fans and hope that some of them click through to see the entire post? If that is the case, how would you monetize that traffic? Is posting affilate banners on your blog enough to make sales?

Lots of people are doing it, In fact many businesses are based soley on this model. If it's not working for you then it signals a problem. You may have started to sell a bit too soon. First you need to build a relationship with your audience. Connect with them, give them value, engage them, and understand them. Once your customers start to love you, you can start leading them back to a landing page, and running ads there.

See how "Aunty Acid" Page on Facebook did it. They first built an audience, and they strengthened their relationship. They made sure people love their posts and share them, now they have started posting blogs on their page. People click the blog and go back to their website. They run ads on that website.

Frankly I don't like the website, but I always go there everytime. This is because I like the page itself, and I know that the page I am being sent to will offer me something good. So you see you have to play with the mind of your consumer.
