How do you build interaction on social media?

We all know that if you receive more interaction in Social Media your message will more likely to spread and that means more traffic which could be good for business. Now, it's not enough that you have a lot of followers. Even if you have thousands of them, if they are not even paying attention to what you're talking (posting) on your social media then there's no use.

I've read that in order to build interaction, one must complete his profile, research the niche of your competitors, cross-promote to different social media platform and experiment with your best time to post.

Do you do these things? Were you able to get good result using these things?

    If your followers are not engaging with your content then either:

    1. You did not build a targeted following
    2. The content your sharing is not good quality
    3. You have lost your credibility by SPAMMING your audience

    It would be wise to build a strong following in several social networking sites especially the most popular ones. Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Pinterest, and Youtube.

    Keep in mind that each social media platform is different and just because one thing works on one does not mean it will work in the other. Some niches respond better in Twitter than they do on Facebook and vice-versa.

    Don't limit yourself to just engaging by liking, RT, favorting, and commenting. Go the extra distance and use the direct messages feature in every platform.

    Reach out to your audience and break the ice by sending them a personal message complimenting them on the content they shared. If you do it right people will reply back and they will start paying attention to the posts you share.

    Additionally, if you use social platforms your visitors do not frequent, then there will less to nothing social interaction.

    The main point of all this is to ensure you're doing the right thing by generation high quality content and engaging meaningfully in platforms you know your visitors regularly frequent.
