(checklist) How not to get banned from Facebook

I thought this might be useful for some of you ...

Rule of thumb:

Think of offers that you would tell your family you run and not be ashamed.

That what's allowed on Facebook.

Note: a vertical is a general category of an offer, product or service.

Stay clear from:

-Toolbars and software downloads
-Gambling/lottery/bingo offers, penny auctions.
-Drugs/tobacco/pharmaceuticals.
-Rebills and products that use negative option billing (like a book sales club).
-PIN submit offers, email submits, crap that starts billing people and has a lengthy disclaimer at the bottom of the page.

Stay clear if you're a beginner:

-Dating. Facebook made dating a whitelist only (you need authorization from FB).
-Get rich quick, Multi-level marketing and business opportunities. It's possible, but not a great place to start.
-Diet/weight loss/skin care/muscle building. These aren't prohibited per se, but you will have trouble running them if you don't know what you're doing.

Save verticals:

-Gaming (MMORPGs, browser-based games, FB apps and mobile games e.g. from the Android/Apple app stores).
-Daily deals. Groupon, LivingSocial, etc. These have broad appeal and can scale well. Watch out: they generally have very strict offer terms, in particular with Facebook.
-Retail/Shopping, e.g. virtually anything on CJ affiliate. CPS/revenue share offers for legitimate products/services. Teespring is a topical example. Books, media, computer hardware, clothing, shoes, gifts and flowers, etc.
-Travel, e.g. Atrapalo, travel bookings, flight packages, etc.
-Entertainment. Netflix/Blockbuster memberships, game hires, events, etc.
