Facebook, Your Honest Opinion

Hi Warriors

I'm looking for your honest opinion concerning Facebook. On a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being worst, 10 being best) where would you rate Facebook for being good for Internet Marketing?

In your response please do not give alternatives to Facebook. You can send me a private message about alternatives if you wish.

Thanks

As of right now, in this point in time, I will say that it's probably a 3 or 4, mainly because Facebook is beyond saturated in terms of trying to sell affiliate products. While there is an opportunity open, it's still tough when you think about all the annoying spammers that spend all their time spamming away on Facebook walls and fan pages.

I will say that there are still good ways to make money from a decent fan page if you make it grow correctly. When you have a huge following, the opportunities are endless. The reason why Facebook is so saturated and not the best place to do IM is because of all the people who abuse it too much. If you use it right, there are still ways to make money from it. Sort of like with Teespring, for example.

I'd also give Facebook a 5. Maybe a 6. It takes work. You have to get out there and network with others. You can get quality traffic though.

In my experience it's great for networking which is the best way to drive traffic if you're doing it right...actually helping people and contributing not just squeezing in links ever 2 seconds. Facebook advertising though.......I've got nothing good to say about it so far. It's also tough for me as an IMer cos whilst I need it to help my business....I'd secretly like all companies banned so I can see my aunty's birthday pics and connect with my old school buddies. So.....a 5 I guess looking at the whole offering.

Facebook is a ten...every single social networking site is a ten. If you understand the fundamentals of what it takes to build connections/build relationships/and sell a product then it does not matter where you are!

Just remember to learn the basics and apply them to everything that you do.

      Hope That Helps,

Hey Steve. Facebook uses algorithms to determine what content you want to see. For those that know about this, the consensus is that the Facebook algorithm sucks.

Right now I don't use Facebook as much as I could.

Have tried lead generation but for Australia the results weren't good. 2 out of 10.

I think it's awesome, 10 out of 10, for building a rapport with your followers, as far as sharing social stuff with them, and maybe mingling in a bit of business also.

Only if your followers can see your posts. Facebook likes to block posts all the time from your followers. Take for example the Instagram fanpage. They have 27 million subscribers. A post that is 9 hours old has only a miniscule 661 likes on the post. I would give you a screen capture but not sure how on this site. Just type in Instagram in the Facebook search engine to confirm.

    7. At some point, Facebook is one of the best marketing tool a business can use for free.
Though, even if there are changes made, I believe it is a good signal that the site is growing.
Besides, we were able to adapt on its every changes.

Do you know facebook is important social media for internet marketing. To market your business successfully on Facebook, you need to understand Facebook's unique opportunities. You'll want to possess a apparent target intended for applying Myspace, and a approach for doing that target. Location a target and approach will give you course on your Myspace marketing and a method to gauge your achievement. Their approach can include things like: Write-up routinely, Promote comments and response quickly, Make use of photographs and videos, Foster your relationships, Showcase your Myspace web site, Make use of Myspace Insights to find out more regarding your web visitors.

Free posting on a wall or your fanpage probably a 2 or 3 and if you are going to spend about $500 a month in advertising probably an 8 or 9. I would say it is one of the few places that I would spend any money like that and if you have a great offer and quite a few likes, you could do pretty good just from the sheer amount of people that you can reach and getting shares

Facebook is an 11+ out of ten if you know how to market on Facebook.

It sounds like a lot of people are talking about paid ads here though, and that's not social media marketing- that's buying an ad.

Facebook really is useful, but you'd have to know how to use it to your advantage. For a beginner, it's a 1 or a 2, definitely, but the more you learn how to engage fans and how to make yourself popular and have more and more followers, the better. I would probably give it a 6 or a 7, but again: it depends on how you use it.

Growing your fan base and providing quality content while promoting your business can get you some great results although there has to be a lot of work put into it. Facebook advertising is also great for getting targeted traffic back to your website. There are many spammers on Facebook, so you should try to set yourself apart and be willing to put lots of work in. Overall id give it a 7

    Hi,

7 to 8. It depends on how you use the platform. Do you spam or broadcast? No good.

But if you send out helpful updates, if you promote others, and if you build friendships on Facebook you will kill it on the network, because your friends will see to it.

Problem is, many Warriors try to manipulate people and stuff like that, not wanting to roll up their sleeves to build friendships. I on the other hand do my best to socialize, to build bonds and to prosper on FB by prospering others.

    Onward and upward!

Nigel Tufnel: It's an eleven, Facebook.

Marty DiBergi: Oh, I see. And most socials go up to ten?

    Nigel Tufnel: Exactly.

Marty DiBergi: Does that mean it's better? Is it really any better?

Nigel Tufnel: Well, it's one better, isn't it? It's not ten. You see, most blokes, you know, will be surfing at ten. You're on ten here, all the way up, all the way up, all the way up, you're on ten on your Twitter, on Your IG. Where can you go from there? Where?

    Marty DiBergi: I don't know.

Nigel Tufnel: Nowhere. Exactly. What we do is, if we need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?

    Marty DiBergi: Go to Facebook.

Nigel Tufnel: Eleven. Exactly. One better.

Marty DiBergi: Why don't you just make ten better and make ten be the top number and make the other socials 9?

Nigel Tufnel: [pause] Facebook goes to eleven.

    IMHO,

    1) Facebook oraganic shares and likes are the best. If you can get several people to share and like you content, that will help with most views. It has personal touch, free and has a great viral oppotunity.

    2) You can cater to current audience with Page likes but, there is no viral effect.

    3) Sponsored ads have no personal touch, meaning, it feels invasive.

Achieving organic shares and likes, by asking people to share/like is not easy. If you want to know more about it, message me.

    Social Media

Facebook continues to be the reigning champ of social media sites, as the #1 spot where friends connect and share online. More than just a meeting place for friends, Facebook has grown into a venue for businesses to market themselves through interaction with customers and self-promotion.
In this post we will be looking at seven ways you can use Facebook for marketing.
Whether you’re a big corporation or a small local biz, Facebook is a powerful marketing tool – it’s a great space to keep customers informed, develop brand identity, and broaden your reach.
    1. Making the Most of Your Facebook Business Page

A Facebook page is a great free marketing tool for businesses. These pages let businesses identify themselves – not just through listing product offerings and services, but also by sharing links, images, and posts on a customizable page to give a better sense of a business’s personality and character.
Your Facebook business page is a great spot to develop your brand identity and show your human side. Facebook is where you can loosen the tie a bit – don’t be afraid to be funny. If you’re a local footwear store, you might consider posting a video like this little gem:
Ultimately you should consider what your key audience would want to see. Share social media images, links, videos, anything, as long as it is connected to your business and it seems like something your target audience would enjoy.
In addition to hilarious videos of dogs walking in tiny shoes, a store specializing in footwear might also post an article about how to measure your foot size accurately, what kind of shoe inserts are best for different sore feet woes, etc. A nice mix of humor, educational resources, and posts about your store updates is ideal.

    2. Facebook Advertising: Classic Ads

Facebook offers its own form of advertising with Facebook ads, which appear in the side columns of the Facebook site. These classic ads are referred to more specifically as Marketplace Ads. They include a headline with copy, an image, and a click-through link to either a Facebook page, a Facebook app, or an outside website.

    Image borrowed from Site Reference
Implementing Facebook advertising into your Facebook marketing strategy is one possible technique for increasing likes or driving website clicks.
    Facebook advertising features include:
    • Demographic targeting by Facebook user data on age, location, education, and interests.
    • The ability to set ad budgets.
    • Ad testing, in which multiple ad versions can be run simultaneously in order to compare ad designs and setup.
    • Built-in ad performance measurement tools.
Facebook doesn’t release information about their ad CTRs, so it’s difficult to know how successful Facebook ads really are. In our Facebook Ads vs Google Display Ads Infographic, we found that Facebook ads generally have a CTR of 0.051%, and an average CPC of $0.80; however, a business’s Facebook advertising cost can vary a lot depending on the targeting options set and competition.
Using Facebook advertising to increase your “Likes” can be very beneficial – once a user likes your page, they essentially become followers of your business page, and your posts will appear on their Facebook news feed.
This results in more users interacting with you and your brand, forming relationships that may end up translating to conversions in the future.
