Posting your YouTube videos to every other video site you can...

Hi guys,

I have a successful YouTube channel that get about 15k views a day. I have 3 large competitors who get about 30k views a day and they dominate some of the keywords in my niche but im right below them.

I noticed that their videos aren't on Vimeo, metacafe, dailymotion, etc.

Would you recommend posting the same videos to accounts under those websites to support my brand? Or will that kill any of my search engine rank, youtube keyword rank or anything due to duplicate content?

Thanks Guys!

Justin

Well depends, if you give them valuable information they might check your YT channel from those sites if they find your videos useful for them.

It is a video, I don't think that would be a problem.
There will be a difference between a video and a text content.
As long as it isn't spam you are good to go.

What's your goal? How do you monetize? Do you want more traffic to your site or more YouTube subscribers? You could always post 'teaser' videos on the other networks, driving traffic to your YouTube account. If you want traffic to a site/offer then post everywhere you can. I'd use different titles, but maintain the keyword pattern.

First off, thanks for the reply guys

I do give valuable information - they are guitar lessons. I would be posting the exact same video that is on youtube to other video sharing sites.

Yep, not spam, just the exact same video.

I monetize by funneling traffic to my website where I offer a learn guitar package. I also monetize with Youtube Partner Program ie. Google Adsense which does ok by itself. I like your idea on using different keywords and descriptions, thanks! If I have a youtube video monetized through the partner program, is there any change that could be a violation of the YouTube Partner Program's TOS to put the same video that's monetized on youtube on another network (monetized on that other network or not?). Thanks Logan!

While doing so, it will not cause any problem in ranking, but it is good to change the video content before to post in different video sharing sites.

It will not affect the ranking as those are videos. It will affect if you copy the same content to different websites.
By content do you mean the video's description below the video, keywords, etc? Or are you talking about the actual video itself?

I was planning to upload the exact same video to both sites.

    Thanks!
