5 Things Worth Knowing when Using Reddit
I don't know if this is the right place to post it. But I really want to share you my knowledge about Reddit.
I noticed that a lot of website owners and webmasters here on WF are still not familiar with the power of Reddit. I also noticed this with my LinkedIn articles (since Reddit related contents are not given attention). So I'll try to teach you a little thing about Reddit.
The first thing that you need to know about Reddit is that it's a site that's not fit for direct promotions. Don't ever think of posting your links on Reddit because you'll be bombarded with downvotes (the Reddit's version of UNLIKE). If you're the type of marketer who simply want to copy paste everything as "promotions", you better stop being an online marketer!
Second, Reddit is a "magical" place that caters almost every niche that you could think of. Seriously, almost everything under the sun is in here. So whether your niche is about goldfishes or anything that isn't very usual, you don't need to back out. Reddit is already there for you.
Third thing that's worth knowing with Reddit is that it can send a lot of traffic for you IF you are already well-known there. Reddit is not something that could work overnight.
Fourth thing about Reddit that you need to know is that if you really want to convert those people into sales, you must know really know how to talk to them. Suggest them to try out your services in a "friendly" tone. Not in a "sales" tone.
What do I mean by that?
Example:
Customer: I really need to know how could I fix my car since my engine isn't really working.
You: Well, buddy. You could (insert quick tips here). If you want to be really sure about your engine's current state, you could send it here at (brand name). We'll have it check and fixed if you want. And since we're both redditors here, I could give you a discount!
and not...
You: Well, you could visit our blog to know more about your engine. Or you could visit (enter brand name here) for us to check your engine..
See the difference?
Fifth thing worth knowing about Reddit is that you need to explore it. Don't just visit your niche's subreddit. Try to read other subreddits that and see how they work out. Don't try researching about other marketers and their strategies in acquiring sales using Reddit. It's all about individual experiences.
